We’d been to Northern and Eastern Cuba almost a year ago and I will have the pictures and travelogue up “soon”.
Here’s something very untypical of Cuba (well, the way of life and food, anyway): Playa Esmeralda, Guardalavaca. We splurged on a night of all-inclusive luxury, hehe! If you’ve been in the “real” Cuba for a few days you have to pinch yourself that the food buffets are real!
We are thinking of going to paradisus rio de oro in playa esmeralda. Do you know if the hotel beach is as lovely as the pictures you have posted? some reviews say there are rocks and we love a sandy beach that you can swim in safely. Can you help thank you

Yup, the movie is what you’ll get. From the two hotels next to each other Mares and Luna, choose the Mares if you can, it’s not the sandy beach. The luna to the right has a few rocks but is also a bit nearer to the bit of coral snorkeling area (pitiful if you’ve been to the Red Sea or Maldives). But then you can just stroll over to the Mares’ beach in a minute or two.
